Mission

Beyond Mask Expressions name comes from the word “transpersonal” (trans = beyond & persona = mask), which refers to going “beyond ego boundaries.” Both Dr. Sky and Dr. Do have dedicated their lives to the services of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, developmental, and multiple disabilities. It is their philosophical/transpersonal belief that adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities are in fact our spiritual teachers. Dr. Sky's story, written in Finland in 1976, was originally called “Mentally Retarded — Born from Good Angel's Tears” and is now called “Born From Good Angel's Tears” it captures the philosophy and mission of their work. She has since dramatized this story for Therapeutic Noh Theater®. Beyond Mask Expressions is offering for sale an inspirational “Good Angel's Tear” poster of the appliqué she created in Finland in 1976. In her lectures in Finland in 1976-1977, Dr. Do often stated that “the only difference between so called normal people and people with handicaps is that the so called normal persons' handicaps are not visible.” This statement Dr. Sky made into an appliqué. An inspiration poster of this appliqué is available for sale by Beyond Mask Expressions. The Arts Division also produce and create arts products such as dvds, cd's, paintings, masks, collages, T-shirts, etc. for sale.

The Training Division will offer training in the fields of the Creative Arts Therapies, Mask Making, Meditative Vail Painting, and Linked Collage Making.
